You might take a Lackawanna Cola Mine Tour in Scranton or visit the historic Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

Southeast

Historic Philadelphia is the center of this part of the state. With its history, character and famous cheese steaks, you'll find plenty to do. The National Constitution Center is an interactive museum with more than 100 multimedia exhibits; you can take a tour of Independence hall, or head for the Philadelphia Orchestra for some world-class music. To fortify yourself, enjoy the original cheese steak purveyor, Pat's King of Steaks, there since 1930. There's an active nightlife here with a variety of nightclubs, and tax-free shopping for clothes and shoes.

Northeast

Centered by the legendary Pocono Mountains, this area offers fun recreation. You might book a stay in one of the romantic Pocono resorts, or take in a NASCAR race. Head outdoors for some golf or shopping in Victorian neighborhoods. Steamtown in Scranton is a National Historic Site that provides an inside look at steam railroading through train excursions and museums. There's plenty of mountain territory here, so you might enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting or enjoying the autumn foliage.

Southwest

Southwest Pennsylvania includes Pittsburgh, where great shopping, dining and entertainment can be found along the Pittsburgh waterfront. The Duquesne Incline provides a great view of the Pittsburgh skyline from Mt. Washington.
