There are a number of excellent shopping malls at Port Charlotte, Englewood of further a field at Naples, Fort Myers or Sarasota.
Try a day out at the Fishermans Village at Punta Gorda, Babcock Adventure Park or Busch Gardens in Tampa. The area has so much to do and is a great alternative for those that want a change from Disneyworld and Orlando which is less than 3 hours drive away.
Tampa International is 1/1/2 hours drive with Orlando and Miaimi International 3 hours drive. Excellent road links via interstates ensure stress free motoring
