Adega Amoreira is situated 10 minutes south of Benafim village in the Central Algarve & a 30 minute drive from Faro International Airport. Adega Amoreira is perched on a hilltop 357 metres above sea level & overlooks fertile valleys dotted with farming communities & the views are spectacular. Also visible from Adega Amoreira is the village of Alte with its narrowed cobbled streets & riverside facilities, a favourite stop for visitors. Adega Amoreira offers guests superb walking, bird-watching & a retreat from the stresses of modern life.
This cottage has been lovingly restored & located in a working farm. The cottage is ideal for 2 people, but will accommodate a family of 4 if necessary with a sofa-bed in the lounge area that folds out to sleep 1 or 2 children.
The cottage comprises of an L-shaped lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen comes equipped with gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric toaster & coffee machine. The dining table comfortably sleeps 4 & there is an abundance of crockery & cutlery.
The lounge area is a relaxing room with a sofa bed, Satellite TV & a wood burning stove for those cooler winter evenings. Logs are provided free of charge.
The bedroom has a traditional Algarvian sloping ceiling, double bed, wardrobe & chest of drawers.
The modern newly fitted bathroom consists of a shower, bidet, WC, washbasin & shaver point.
Outside, is a rock garden that surrounds the cottage & Adega Amoreira offers 2 terraces. There is a terrace on the lower level with table, chairs, sunloungers, parasol & a brick built Bar-B-Q. Adega Amoreira has a further terrace, a roof terrace with table, chairs & parasol for alfresco dining which offers you further privacy & superb views across the valleys.
A weekly maid service is provided throughout your stay to ensure that fresh bed linen is available, bath & hand towels are changed weekly.
A complimentary welcome hamper is provided.
Facilities are close at hand, supermarkets, cafes, clinic & pharmacy are located in the little town of Benafim. The main towns of Loule, Messines and Silves are all within a 30 minute drive from Adega Amoreira. These towns will provide you with everything you will need during your holiday, hypermarkets, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks, post office etc.
The owners of Adega Amoreira who also live on site bake their own bread in their own bread ovens & offer guests & local visitors the opportunity of joining them for a day & learning how to light the bread oven, prepare the dough & bake the bread, then the best bit, tasting the bread & choosing the one you like most.
The other speciality of the owners is their evening meals. The room that houses the bread oven doubles up as a small restaurant. The meals are upon request & are for a minimum of 4 people.
Whilst access to the Cottage is good, owing to its location, car hire is essential and can be arranged prior to your arrival. Hire cars are relatively inexpensive and are usually picked up and dropped off at the airport. We are able to offer competitive rates on request. There is also an excellent Taxi service available locally.
