Close to the beautiful sandy beaches and trails at Reid State Park. Near quaint Five Islands Harbor and Wharf where you can enjoy Maine lobster and hand made ice cream. This cottage provides the perfect setting to sit back and relax, but is close enough to do more if you choose. Historic Bath and the Maine Maritime Museum are just 20 minutes away and famous Freeport shopping (including LL Bean) is only about 40 minutes.
Our cozy cottage has 3 bedrooms (sleeps 4 adults, 3 children), 1 full bath, full kitchen, living room and eating area. It boasts two decks, dock, float, a grassy play area and 5. 5 acres of woods. There are new queen mattresses in the downstairs bedroom and 1 upstairs bedroom. The 2nd upstairs room has a built in bunk bed (2 twins) and a separate twin bed. There are window fans for comfort upstairs, and ceiling fans downstairs.
The view from the living area is of serene White's Cove. You will feel like you are on the "deck of a boat" while you enjoy watching the tides, osprey, seals, and lobster boats come and go. We keep a nicely stocked lending library and supply plenty of family board games for lazy days. You will also find guide books, brochures, menus, and recommendations with ample information to plan your excursions. If it gets chilly, the wood stove will keep you toasty, and we even supply the wood. There are also a couple of electric Vortex heaters for those who visit in the fall.
For the boater and water enthusiast there are 200' of frontage on the Little Sheepscot River (saltwater) and two moorings available for power or sail boats. Our tide is 6 feet, and we have deep water at our dock even at low tide. There are currently two kayaks available for use at your own risk. Enjoy the dock and float and the protected cove. Enjoy our kayaks or bring your own power or sailboat and use our moorings and dock. Fish or swim right from the float. Kids can enjoy hours on the rocks at low tide looking for treasures. Picnic on the back deck or on the dock at water's edge. There is even more to this cottage than its supreme cove side location. Take time to play croquet on the grass, pick blueberries from our patches, bush-wack in our 5 acres of woods, hike the dirt roads, or sit and watch the tides come and go. Kids can check out the tree house, swing on the rope swings, and hunt for frogs.
There's now a great fire pit for your marshmallow roasting enjoyment.
