The Laie Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (only one mile away) has a visitors center that is free to the public. There are 2 bird sanctuaries within 5 miles. Waimea Falls Park, operated BY the Audubon Society, offers beautiful displays of native plants and animals.
Local shopping includes the Laie shopping center (only 1 mile away) and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Laie shopping center has a grocery store, a hardware store, an automotive store, a flower shop, a laundromat, a movie theater, banks, a beauty parlor, and many others. The Polynesian Cultural Center has a marketplace with locally owned shops for souvenirs and gifts for friends and family back home. |
