There are many ways to measure this, but one is our rank among web sites. Although we're ranked in the top 50,000, it may be hard to tell if that's good or not (it is). Some sort of relative measure may be in order. NetCraft is an Internet services company that provides research data and analysis on many aspects of the Internet. Their Web Server Survey shows there are about 30 million (30,000,000) active sites on the Internet (there are at least that many inactive sites, but we conservatively count only active sites). GreatFamilyRentals.com's top 50,000 ranking is determined by Alexa, which is the leading traffic-measurement company on the Internet. It is an Amazon-owned, Google-powered search engine that measures traffic popularity. You can see our up-to-the-minute rank in the white box at the top of our About Us page. The ranking you see represents where we rank in traffic, out of the 30 million sites. From here, it's simple math. A site that ranks 1,000,000 at Alexa, is in the top 3.3% of all sites. A 500,000 rank is in the top 1.7%, and a 250,000 rank is in the top 0.8% of all sites. So with a top 50,000 rank, GreatFamilyRentals.com lands in the top 0.17% of all sites. For good measure, we just like to say we're in the top 0.25%, or one-quarter of one percent of all Internet sites. There will NOT be a test on this. All you need to remember is that a high ranking means loads of traffic, which means more vacationers viewing your listing, inquiring and booking your vacation rental property! | |||
